Hello, you are listening to it Only Takes a Spark podcast with Pastor Mike. This podcast is designed to be a discipleship support for the busy parent of a child, to spark a fruitful conversation. As always, I come to you with a question how will you share your God's story?
Speaker 1:We turn to the book of Acts found in the Bible, the New Testament. In Acts, chapter 16, verses 16 through 34, where we read a story about a man named Paul and Silas that were traveling and telling all the people about Jesus, but one day after they had helped a young girl who was being used by men to tell fortunes to make money, the men got angry and had Paul and Silas thrown into the prison, a bad place. While they were found in prison, paul and Silas prayed and sang songs to God, but suddenly there was an earthquake that shook the prison and opened the doors and loosened the chains of the prisoners, but the jailer, thinking everybody had escaped, was about to hurt himself. Paul stopped him and he said that they would share the story with him, and he asked the question how can I be saved? So Paul and Silas told him all about Jesus, told them their God story and the jailer. As a result of Paul and Silas telling their God story and the jailer. As a result of Paul and Silas telling their God story, he and his whole family began to believe in Jesus and were baptized into the faith, boys and girls. Paul and Silas couldn't change their situation, but prison didn't stop them from sharing the faith that they had inside of them.
Speaker 1:Sometimes our reactions to circumstances can share our story of faith in Jesus in many ways, but not staying quiet and sharing their story, they remain joyful in the tough times they were faced with. Sharing your story can lead someone to make a decision to follow Jesus. Let us pray, lord Jesus, help us today to live by your word, to live by your instructions, to live blessed. Thank you for helping us to share our story with the way we live our lives, to share our story with the way we live our lives. Help us to find new ways, different ways, to share this wonderful news of you, and we give you praise and amen.
