Hello, you are listening to it Only Takes a Spark podcast with Pastor Mike. This podcast is designed to be a discipleship support for the busy parent of a child, to spark a fruitful conversation. From a little spark may come a flame. Now let the sparks fly. Hello, boys and girls, I'm so excited you decided to join me once again for this podcast and, as always, I come to you with a question how will your actions share your God story?

Speaker 1:

In 1 John 3, verses 16-18, we find, in summary, that the Bible teaches us all about what true love really is. It says that Jesus showed us what real love is by giving his life for us. Because of this, we should always be ready to help others, even if it means making sacrifices ourselves. This passage tells us that if we see someone in need but we do nothing to help, then we're not showing the love of God. Instead, we should love others through our actions and be kind and also helpful. Boys and girls, love is best demonstrated through action.

Speaker 1:

Last Friday, as we discussed the story of Paul and Silas, if you remember, who stayed behind and waited to share the gospel with the jailer after they had broken out of prison the gospel with the jailer after they had broken out of prison. Their story speaks of Christ and his sacrifice and his selfless service. Actions truly speak louder than words. Let what we say be what we do. Let us pray together, lord Jesus. Help us today to live by this word together. Lord Jesus, help us today to live by this word. Thank you for helping us to share our story with the way we live our lives. Help us to live out what we are saying through our actions, as Paul and Silas. Help us to follow the example of Jesus, as they did. Let our actions be backed up by our words, amen.
