Speaker 1:Did you know it's important that you listen to the instructions of your parents? You see, in the Bible, the book of Proverbs, chapter 1, verse 8 and 9, the Bible says my son, listen to your father's advice and don't turn away from your mother's teaching. What they teach, you will be like a beautiful crown on your head. It will be like a chain to decorate your neck. This scripture shows the importance of listening to wisdom and instruction given by your parents. It is not just about obedience and doing what you've been told, but about valuing the lesson that can lead to a fruitful and righteous life. The metaphor of the garland and the chain symbolizes honor, beauty and the value of wisdom, indicating that such teachings are precious and they enhance one's life with grace and dignity.
Speaker 1:For us today, boys and girls, you are to value and follow the teaching of your parents, knowing these as a source of wisdom and of guidance. Let us pray together, lord Jesus. We come to you, father. We pray that you help us to live by your word today and, lord, help us to value the wisdom passed down from our parents to us. Help us, as boys and girls today, to live by their instruction, to be blessed, to be adorned like the decorative chain around their neck. We thank you for this and we give you the praise and all the glory, father, in Jesus' name, amen.
