Speaker 1:Did you know that Jesus does everything out of love? We find a story found in the Bible, the book of John, chapter 2. John gives us the story of Jesus and his friends that were invited to a wedding in a town called Canaan, and at this wedding they ran out of wine, which is a big problem, and Jesus' mother Mary told Jesus about the issue and asked him if he could help. Even though it wasn't time for him to show his miracles to anyone, he listened to his mother. Jesus told the servants to fill six large jars with water. Then he turned the water into wine. This was the first miracle Jesus performed, showing his amazing love for his friends, boys and girls. This wedding feast story reminds us just how much Jesus loves us. Despite his telling his mother that his time had not yet come, he still chose to fulfill her request.
Speaker 1:The Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians, chapter 13, what real love actually is. The story is an example of what Paul was talking about. John's writings also help us to see the importance of doing what the Master tells us to do, even when it does not make sense. Let's pray together. Lord, we thank you for your love. We ask you today to help us to be obedient to your instructions and give us this heart of love for others. Amen.
