Boys and girls, moms and dads, I'm so excited to have you to join me today on this podcast. I come to you as a question, as I always do. The question is this what was Jesus asked to do one time at a wedding? Do you remember? According to John, chapter 2 and verse 1 through 12, we recount the story of a miracle. This was Jesus' first miracle performed at a wedding in Canaan of Galilee, and during the celebration, the host ran out of wine and Jesus' mother Mary informed him of the situation and suggested he help. Initially reluctant, jesus eventually instructs the servants to fill six stone jars with water and upon drawing some out, the water is miraculously transformed into wine. So the master of the banquet, unaware of the miracle, praises the groom for saving the best wine for last. Contrary to the usual practice of the times, this miracle was known as the turning of water into wine. So how does this miracle show us that Jesus does everything out of love? First, we learn that he didn't have to do anything. It was not his time, he told his mother, but he did it anyway. And we understand why now that he did it. Because Jesus chose to act, because he loved his family and his friends and he'd done what he needed to do. Because of this, as servants of the Lord, we need to be ready to do as the servants did in the story when Jesus gave the instructions to go and to fill them with water. They didn't stop and ask questions. They simply done what he said to do.
Speaker 1:Today, we're reminded of Psalm 77, verse 14. And it says that you are God who performs miracles. You display the power among your peoples. Remember today that Jesus loves you and he does everything he does out of love and he has the best in store for you. Let's pray together. Remember today that Jesus loves you and he does everything he does out of love, and he has the best in store for you. Let's pray together. Lord Jesus, we pray you. Help us today to live by your word, as always. We ask that you help us to be willing and ready to do as you say. Do we need you to show up in our situations today, because we believe you are the only one that can truly make a difference in our lives. Help us to show love, as you gave us examples to do and to show. We give you the praise, amen.
