This episode dives into the story of creation as told in Genesis, exploring its significance and relevance to our lives today. We reflect on the creation narrative and why it matters for understanding our purpose and relationship with God.

• Understanding the beginning of everything as a reflection of God’s intentionality
• The separation of light from darkness and its implications for moral clarity
• The importance of spending time in God’s word to strengthen faith

For a deeper connection with God, be challenged to spend time reading the scriptures and understanding His guidance in your life.

Speaker 1:

Boys and girls, moms and dads, I'm so glad you decided to join me today. I wanted to read to you a story that comes from the book of Genesis, talking about how God made everything, and it reads in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth did not have any shape, it was empty and dark, but the spirit of God was there. On the first day, god said let there be light, and God saw that the light was good. He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day and the darkness night. On the second day, god said let there be a huge space between the waters, and God called the huge space sky. On the third day, god said let the water under the sky be gathered unto one place. Let dry land appear. God called the dry land land and the waters seas. On the fourth day, god said there would be light in the huge space of the sky. Let them separate the day from the night. God made two great lights the sun for the day and the moon for the night. He also made the stars, and God saw that it was good. Then, on the fifth day, god said let the seas be filled with living things. Let the birds fly above the earth, across the huge space of the sky, and God saw that that was good.

Speaker 1:

On the sixth day God said let the lamb produce every kind of living creature. Animals filled the whole earth. Then God said let us make human beings so that they are like us. So God created human beings in his own likeness. He formed a man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into him and the man became a living person. Then he saw that the man needed a helper. So God put man into a deep sleep and took one of his ribs. Then God made a woman from the rib, brought her to the man and said have children so that there will be many of you. Fill the earth and bring it under your control. Rule over every living creature. God saw everything he had made and it was very good. So on the seventh day God rested. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy.

Speaker 1:

This is Adam and Eve, who were the first people God had made. They lived in a garden called Eden, which was a beautiful place that had everything they had need. Of the trees of the garden they could eat of. But there was one tree that God said you could not partake of. That was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God told Adam he could eat from any of the trees except this tree of the knowledge of good and evil. There were lots of animals in the garden, but the serpent was more clever than any of them and one day he asked Eve Did God really say you must not eat from any tree in the garden?

Speaker 1:

I want to stop there today and I want to ask you this question Are you spending time in the word of God and reading his word? We learn from this story that the enemy likes to question the words that God speaks. The one way that we can combat that, boys and girls, moms and dads, is to know his word and spend time in his word. I'm going to challenge you today to do exactly that. Spend time reading his word, so you have the knowledge. Let us take a moment and pray time. Read his word, so you have the knowledge. Let us take a moment and pray. Father, we pray that you would help us to spend time in your word, quality time, spending time knowing what the word of God says. So, when the enemy comes our way to try to distract us and try to confuse our minds. We pray that you would help us to stand strong and to know what you have to say and to stand on your word. For this we give you the praise Amen.
